SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE

Stretch Drive
Happy week after spring vacation as we begin our final push of the 2012-2013 school year.   We have nine weeks left in this school year with numerous activities, field trips, ceremonies and administration of state and district level assessments taking place over the coming weeks.
It has been an excellent school year and will be truly outstanding with a strong push from each student and family as we finalize the year.  For a young person a dedicated time each evening to practice and reinforce what has taken place in the classroom will be a key to their individual academic success.
Although state testing is one form of accountability we know that it is not the only issue that we address in schools.  Whether it is social or emotional safety and improvement to insuring that all students are physically safe are just a few of the issues that are addressed daily. Our staff work on these issues and reinforce expectations through direction and support.
For some students they will be taking the Measurement of Student Progress (MSP) assessments for the first time.  One of the keys in assisting a child with any upcoming anxiety in these tests is to assure them that they should do their best and not worry about the results.  All the work they have done over the year will help them when the assessments begin and giving their best efforts is the key.
If you have questions regarding the upcoming state assessments that will take place in late April and May please contact the school office.
