Kindergarten News March 2017
Here are some highlights since the last newsletter-
Ø Played new games in math that included adding and subtracting in a variety of ways.
o Read, wrote and illustrated our new sight words.
o Listened to Dr. Seuss read-aloud stories and talked about his birthday.
o Discussed and practiced our reading strategies and added new strategies.
o Worked on iPads to work on our reading skills.
o Engaged in word work activities: play dough sight words, writing word lists, writing sentences and drawing pictures to match, typing….the list goes on!
At Home: What Can I Do to Help My Child Grasp Concepts that S/He Learned at School?
Ø Does your child need help reading numbers to 31? Don’t forget to practice quick number recognition with the calendar!

Ø Allow your child to sound out words when they are writing. They will gain confidence!
