| SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE
Welcome
At a special board Meeting held on Tuesday, May 8 the Conway School Board selected Gwen Halliday to fill the term vacated by the recent resignation of Diane Robertson. Gwen will fill this term until November 2013 and she will make a decision to run for a full term at that time.
Gwen has been involved with Conway Schools as a member and officer for the SOCS-PTA, the Conway Soccer Association, and the local Boy Scouts as a group leader. In addition she has served on the Skagit County Board for Habitat for Humanity. Gwen has two boys attending Conway School, a 4th grader and a 5th grader. Gwen is also serving on the District Facilities Committee and will continue to serve with that group.
Gwen's professional background is in the area of law and currently serves as a deputy prosecuting attorney for both San Juan County and Skagit County. Prior to this she also taught 5th grade in eastern Washington. Gwen's interest in education and Conway School has been apparent with her involvement in numerous school functions and her attendance at numerous Board meetings over the past couple of years. We look forward to her leadership and advocacy of Conway School in her role in this important position as member of the Conway School Board. Please welcome Gwen and congratulate her for this appointment.
